On December 15, 2021, at about 1:45 AM I made a virtual presentation as part of an Indian Training Programme on Coal-Fired Power Plants. The title of my presentation was “Understanding Technology and Operational Issues of Flue-Gas Desulfurization Systems”. India has made a commitment to install flue-gas desulphurization systems on many coal-plants. I was provided the opportunity to share some insights from my more than 40 years of power plant experience.
The few systems that have been contracted for to date are Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization systems, either limestone forced oxidation systems to gypsum, or seawater based systems.
